少子化社会が進行し、女子大の共学化や廃校が増える中、女子大の存続について意見を求められることが多く、今、色々と現状を調べています。私自身も女子大出身ですが、学業はさておき😝、スポーツ/音楽/語学、などなど、様々なことに興味を抱き、充実した4年間を過ごすことができたと感じています。そのため、女子大へのニーズが全くなくなってしまうことはないと確信しています。米国にも女子大が40校ほどあり、大学院進学/留学/専門的なキャリアを視野に入れ、落ち着いた日々を過ごすことができたと感じている卒業生が多いそうです。
そんな中、女子大活性化のために、女子大卒で活躍している方に講演をしてもらったらどうかという話になり、思わず、米国女子大の名門校であるウェルズリー大学を卒業した（その後、イェール大学ロースクール卒）ヒラリー・クリントン女史を招いてみたらどうかと言ってしまいました。講演費や警備などは、他の団体や企業と協力して招聘すれば何とかなるのではないかと…..真剣に考えてしまいました〜😅
As the declining birthrate progresses and the number of women’s colleges becoming coeducational or closing increases, I have been asked more frequently for my opinion on the continuation of women’s colleges. I am currently researching various aspects of the current situation. I myself am a graduate of a women’s college, and although academics aside, I was able to spend a fulfilling four years exploring my interests in sports, music, languages, and various other activities. Therefore, I am convinced that the need for women’s colleges will not completely disappear. In the United States, there are about 40 women’s colleges, and many graduates feel that they were able to spend calm and focused days while considering graduate school or specialized careers.
Amidst this, there was a discussion about inviting successful women’s college graduates to give speeches to revitalize women’s colleges. I couldn’t help but suggest inviting Hillary Clinton, who graduated from Wellesley College, a prestigious women’s college in the United States. I seriously considered that if we collaborated with other organizations or companies, we might be able to manage the lecture fees and security costs 😅
